Nikita Goyal belongs to Ambala, doing her B.Tech at Punjab Engineering College, deemed University. Just 21 years old, she is already a leader, coordinating the work of several volunteers from PEC, undertaking different roles like teaching children, collection drives and visiting NGOs for need assessment. Full of motivation, Nikita says:
“I realise we are very fortunate to have all the opportunities that we can utilise. It is very important that everyone is given equal opportunities, as then only we can achieve something in life. Thus awareness and creating opportunities for all so that they become self sufficient is my inspiration to do social work.
I try to do as much as I can for the underprivileged. As a volunteer for Disha, I have taught students who have not access to proper education. Being a part of Punarkriti, I have taught in government schools, conducted and lead a collection drive at the time of Kerala Floods of 2018, and been to various other places to meet and gather information about status of habilitation centres for old people.
My goal in life is to reach a level from which I can help others. I want to inspire others that good work can be done at any point in life, it just needs strong will and determination to take out time for others and take them along in your way of success and happiness.”
