Nitesh Sharma a role model and a Crusader to teach sign language
I am Nitesh Sharma, Born to parents with Hearing impairment. Born in Chandigarh in 1988; I took to training myself as a Sign language Interpreter and have been working with the Chandigarh Social Welfare Department for the past 10 years and have trained scores of hearing impaired in sign language and other Accessible techniques.
Presently I am associated with “She Foundation” as its Co-founder.
My Parents are the My Inspiration as I was brought up as a CODA. My First language Was Sign language and I have seen my parents struggling in the field of Education, Public Speaking, Society Bonding and Various norms related to Families issues due to just lacking of Non-Awareness of Indian sign language. I can still feel that Barriers and obstacle which was made and create by hearing Society.
I started working in social welfare, rendered my Services as an Indian sign language Interpreter and left my successful 10 years of job just to enhance my knowledge in the field of Interpretations.
I am now registered with RCI (Rehabilitation Council of India) and proudly I can mention that I am first sign language interpreter in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula, My Motive is to “Make Chandigarh accessible for Everyone” I have started initiative to Interpret Motivational Quotes and Stories and have uploaded more than 100 videos on YouTube channel name “Your Sign channel”. I have worked with many other Associations to make Accessible videos for Deaf and Mute.
